Michael Lost a Tooth!!

I’m doing a really crappy job of updating my blog! I have been so busy lately. I started my new job in September and now 3 months later I am finally getting ready to actually start working my own shift. I will be working Saturday and Sunday nights from 7 pm to 7 am. The last two weeks I worked Monday through Friday 11 pm to 7 am. I’m not going to lie, it was really hard. I thought it would be a lot easier. It is such a crazy schedule and it is impossible to catch up on sleep. But I have to do what I have to do for my family :)
I cannot believe that Christmas is 4 nights away. This entire year has just flown by! I went to Walmart this morning at 5 am and finished my Christmas shopping. I’m not buying or wrapping another gift and I’m thrilled. This year we are having Christmas Eve at Judy & Rick’s house around 3 pm. Then I’m going to stay the night at my Dads house because Corey has to work 3rd shift. He has to go to work Christmas Eve at noon and then work all the way until 3 am Christmas morning. He will be exhausted. It sucks but it’s what he had to do to get Christmas off. We will be opening gifts in the morning at Dads house and in the evening we are going to Debby’s (dads girlfriend) house for dinner. It should be nice.
Michael is officially 1/2 done with his first year of school. It has gone so fast. He really likes it. I’m so happy he enjoys it. His teacher is fantastic. I couldn’t ask for a better teacher for him. He really looks forward to Gym and Music. He is learning tons of Spanish and beginning to learn how to read!
Monday morning Michael came walking out of his bedroom while I was sitting in the middle of the living room wrapping a bunch of presents. He helped me a bit and then out of no where says hey mom my tooth fell out yesterday. I was like what!?! Apparently in the night his tooth came out and he just left it in his bed. He didn’t even care! It was his first tooth and he acted like it was no big deal at all. He is so crazy! I tried to take a picture of his missing tooth and Aiden really wanted to take the picture too… He’s so goofy!

Work Work Work

I haven’t posted in forever. I have been so busy adjusting to working 40 hours a week. Honestly, I can’t believe how tiring it is. It’s not that my job is super hard but I just feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day. This is how my day goes: wake up at 5 am to get ready for work, leave for work at 6:15-6:30, clock in at work between 6:53-7:00, Clock out at 3:30 and drive straight to Northmoor to pick up Michael from school at 3:45 then pick up Aiden from my Dads and head home,  get all of Michael’s school stuff sorted out and talk to both of the boys about their days, then start making dinner. That takes me to around 5:30 or 6. My kids go to bed at 7:30 so we hang out as much as possible before they head to bed. Once the kids are in bed I attempt to clean up the house or do laundry or whatever needs done. Then I’m exhausted and ready for bed before Corey even gets home at 9 pm. I’m rarely awake when he gets here. I feel like we only see each other on his Tuesdays off and every other weekend. It sucks!! But I guess the good thing is I only have to do this until the end of December. Then I get to switch of to my 3rd shift weekends. I’m sure people think I’m crazy for wanting to work that shift but I don’t care. I miss spending the days with Aiden and seeing my husband. The weekends are going to be hell but it will be worth it.
There are so many other things I need to write about but it’s not going to happen tonight!

I Got a Job!

I haven’t posted in forever…. again! I have been so busy! I got a new job at Methodist in surgery. I get to work with my sister!! I love my new job so far. It is very challenging but I like it. I will be working as a PNA. Which is a perioperative nursing assistant. It is kind of hard to explain but basically my job is to run the communication desk, take patients to surgery, set up operation rooms, tear down operation rooms and be available to get anything that is needed during an operation. That sounds like a lot but doesn’t even begin to explain how much my job entails. I don’t even know everything about my job yet! Right now I am working from 7 to 3:30 Monday through Friday. But when I am done training I will move to third shift weekends. 7 pm to 7 am. I know it sounds like a horrible shift but I’m pretty excited about it. I will get to be at home with my kids. As of right now my dad is watching Aiden for me from 11 to 4. Corey works at noon and drops him off to my dad. Corey is also taking Michael to school every morning. So he is getting to learn how much I do as a Mommy! My sister is calling me so I will write more later :)

Michael Started Kindgergarten!

Last Friday Corey and I got to go with Michael to Welcome Day at Northmoor. He was pretty nervous. His voice was cracking and everything when he was talking to me in the morning. When we got to the school we were given a t-shirt for him to wear for the firs week of school. Its bright neon green so that where ever he is everyone knows that he is a kindergartner and can get him to where he belongs. Pretty good idea! Then we set all of his school supplies on a table with a big red balloon (everything that was for Mrs. Birris’s classes had the red balloons), after that we went into the cafeteria and looked for the balloons that where were his class was to sit, all of the kindergarten teachers stood up and talked about procedures and such. Then we got to eat lunch. They provided hot dogs, carrots, chips, cookies and milk. While sitting at the table Michael started to talk to a little boy named Marco. They played ISpy and threw things at each other while the teachers were talking and while we were eating. Once we were done in the cafeteria we got to go to his classroom and put away supplies. I liked his teacher a lot. She interacts with the kids so well. Michael seems to like her quite a bit. We left after all of his supplies were put away. When we were leaving we asked Michael what he thought of Northmoor. He loved it and was no longer scared. I was so happy that he was no longer scared!
Monday was his first day of school. Once again he was nervous. We got up at 7 am and attempted to follow a routine. Get up, eat breakfast, brush teeth and hair, wash face, get dressed, mess around until 7:40 when we leave, grab book bag and lunchbox, and leave. We’ve done really well. We went and picked up Katie, she wanted to come with me. We found where we needed to be and got him in his line. He hung on Katie for a long time. Then his friend Marco showed up and he was fine. His classed went into the class and Katie says “Its so sad! He’s so grown up” with tears in her eyes. I lost it. My baby is grown up!! I can’t even begin to explain how I feel and how many questions run through my head. I just had to keep thinking only five hours until I pick him up, 5 hours 5 hours 5 hours!
I went and picked him up at 1:45. I had no idea where I was supposed to be or anything. It was rather stressful but after about 20 minutes I finally found Michael and got outta there. Then he realized he forgot his lunchbox so we went on a wild goose hunt for it. Then at 2:30 we finally made it home. He didn’t really want to talk about school much. He just gave me little tidbits of information. Through out the evening and the next morning he told me more and more. But when he got home he was starving. He only ate about 1/2 of his lunch so he ate the rest of that and a giant pretzel. He also ate the biggest dinner ever! He told me that he was going to go back to school the next day which definitely made me happy! While Michael was at school Aiden informed me that Michael was at work. It was too cute.
Today was his 2nd day of school. It was easier dropping him off than the 1st day. No tears and he went and stood in line with no problem. As we were leaving Aiden ran up and gave him a huge hug. It was adorable. So all in all school has been pretty good. I hate to admit it but I do like the break and enjoy being able to spend a little one on one time with Aiden!
